Ackermans is a South African chain of clothing retail stores with over 450 stores across Southern Africa, Namibia and Botswana. ID&B was commissioned by Yellowwood to conceptualise and design the brand identity, visual language and brand architecture, retail visual identity grid system and rollout. Presented here are a few concepts that lead to rebranding of all Ackermans stores, including their Home Comforts and The Baby Company retail chain brands. While rebranding has taken place recently, this work is relevant as a significant case study in retail brand design.
